Borrowing tools from neighbors: a guide
Start by checking whether the listing is a demo or an eligible item. During prelaunch, the flow stops before payment and pickup.
1. Find and inspect a listing
- Search the catalog by item name or description. Use category, maximum daily credit price and rating filters, then sort the results.
- Open the listing. Read its condition and description, inspect the photos and check the lender and availability labels.
- A Demo label means sample inventory and illustrative ratings. Lender unavailable means requests cannot be created. Neither is an item you can collect.
2. Sign in and request an eligible item
- Choose Request to borrow only when the listing allows it. If you need an account, the sign-in flow retains the item destination.
- Verify your account using the confirmation link when required, then return to the request. Review the displayed daily credit price and confirm the request.
- Only a saved request is confirmation that it was created. A request is not a payment, a pickup appointment or a promise of notification delivery.
3. Manage the request from your profile
Check your profile for pending, accepted, declined or cancelled status. The lender decides whether to approve. You can cancel a pending request or accepted reservation there. Pending and accepted requests do not charge credits.
4. Stop before payment or collection
Pickup and daily billing remain disabled. Even if the lender accepts, do not collect the item or pay outside the app. Public credit purchases, identity checks, guided before/after photos and damage claims are not ready for borrowing.
